Hate laundry? Yeah, me, too. I feel ya – really I do. Which is why I scoured long and hard to find a great solution to have the biggest laundry hamper I could afford – yet still fit into my style. So I know what you’re thinking: a garbage can – seriously? Yep, I’ve been using one for a couple of years now, and it’s been the best thing I’ve ever found to hide a mountain of laundry. The downside, is that if I take it around the house to fill it up, it’s too heavy to bring back to the laundry room. So I fixed it in about 15 minutes and couldn’t be happier with the results.

Can you believe it used to take me like an hour to make myself a pillow cover? I knew it wasn’t supposed to be considered a big, complicated project, but it kinda was. And you know I’m not a big fan of complicated. Back in the dark ages, I used to cut out three different pieces of fabric for each envelop pillow cover that I made, and that gave me three chances to mess it up on each pillow! And I did mess it up often, of course.
how to remove carpet stains
In my almost 40 years I’ve had a LOT of jobs. Like way more than I should have. But, all of those jobs have taught me different things that I seem to catalog in the back of my mind and pull them out when needed. Like how to remove carpet stains. Nearly 20 years ago I was a vacuum sales girl, one that sold the kind you had to take out a second mortgage to buy. During training I learned a the one thing from that job that stuck with me. All of those sales peeps pull out a bottle of “magic” solution to clean the spots off your carpet and show you just how great their product is. Funny thing is, it’s not their product that worked as well as the “magic solution.” I was shocked to find out that solution was plain, basic Windex.

If you have carpet somewhere in your house, then you definitely have experienced one or two mystery carpet stains. Sometimes they can just be dabbed with a damp cloth and they come right out. Other times, not so much.
